Lashes

A lash lift is like a perm for your lashes. Like old-school perms from the ’80s, lash lifts set the shape of your natural lashes using a chemical solution. “A lift is essentially what your lash would be doing with a really good mechanical curler, so a nice shape upward and a realistic curl.

How does a lash lift work?

Unlike eyelash perming, a beauty treatment that gives lashes that curly, ‘dolly-look’, lash lifting aims at enhancing one’s own lashes by lifting them from the root and giving them more length, which really helps to open up the eyes and always makes you look bright-eyed and alert. The process aims to put a kink in the base of the lashes to make them more upturned, and, instead of using a traditional perming rod, makes use of silicone pads placed under the lashes

So how will a lash lift make my lashes look longer?

The perming solution essentially helps in creating an optical illusion – lashes that are curled upward look longer than those that are pointing straight forward or down. What’s great about lash lifting is that it provides an alternative to eyelash extensions for those with straight lashes as well as those with lashes that appear very short due to their curl pattern. The perming solution works to do the opposite on these short and curly lash types as it does on straight lashes. Instead of setting them in a curl pattern, it lengthens them out, making this a must try-treatment for all! Lash lifts are gloriously low maintenance. Lash lifts last six to eight weeks.
